This is really good, my first LOL of the day. Dickish nitpicker alert: The book was actually non-fiction, not a novel, and written by Frances Mayes. However, I think the movie departed from the story widely enough (as previously mentioned) that you’re on point blaming Diane Lane. Plus it’s just funnier that way, so well done.
